The Fallout saga begins with its first title released more than 20 years ago, precisely in 1997. Since then the beloved series has more than ten video games developed and released to the public over the years, up to the last chapter released. in this 2021, Fallout 76: Steel Reign. It seems that in the last period the developers of the saga are working on something about the old products: recently, in fact, Fallout 3 has been subjected to an important update which included the removal of a historical feature : we are talking about a video game released in 2008 , now 13 years ago. Well, not so far from this date there is another never released that could finally debut soon.
The work we are talking about is precisely Fallout 3, more specifically the Van Buren project . The title, in fact, was not released in the way it was originally intended. This was originally supposed to be an RPG (which a modder had already tried to bring it back to life not long ago), but the whole thing was canceled in 2003 to make room for what Fallout 3 is today. Apparently, however, since 2017 the developer Adam Lacko from Inlogic Software has officially taken the reins of the project to try to do it justice and finally make it see the light.
According to the developer, the plan is to release Fallout Van Buren without changing the true nature of the game. This means that this will not undergo heavy updates to make the title live up to today’s technologies ; Adam intends to preserve what the original developers had in mind for the work.
This dated title isn’t the only one in the series that could make a comeback: it seems, in fact, that Fallout New Vegas could also make it to the present day . While waiting for more information, we just have to be patient, and hope that the latter do not turn out to be a flop like another famous work of the saga, Fallout 76, which fortunately has recovered over the years .
