The new installment of the God of War saga will have a wide variety of accessibility options in terms of hearing, visibility and difficulty. Santa Monica has presented some of them.
More and more companies are committed to offering more accessibility options in their video games, so much so that there have even been initiatives to find games with this type of function . God of War Ragnarok will soon arrive in that database , since Santa Monica Studio has confirmed that the new game in the Kratos saga will have more than 60 accessibility options. Mila Pavlin, responsible for UX design in this PlayStation Studio team, signs a new article on the official PlayStation blog to explain what they consist of.
What accessibility options can we expect in God of War Ragnarok ?
“Not only have we redesigned our UI to allow for more flexibility and readability, but we have also rebuilt controller remapping from the ground up and added more customization to our combat and interaction systems,” Pavlin explains in the article, a text in which he doesn’t forget about the options that already existed in the predecessor of this sequel: “ We have retained all our accessibility features from 2018’s God of War and expanded upon them to include more than 60 ways to adjust gameplay to best suit your style and needs“.
In the article we can see some of the accessibility options that will be available in the new game of the God of War saga , such as the number of ways in which we can customize the subtitles of the dialogues (changing colors, text size. ..), as well as more notable ones like options to modify the color of characters with high contrast settings to make game elements more easily identifiable by people with vision problems. There will also be options to alter the size of the icons, activate the auditory description or use assistance in combat, aiming and puzzle solving .
God of War Ragnarok is coming to PS5 and PS4 this year.
