Gordon Freeman in next-gen sauce: watch the video!
After the remarkable success obtained by the chapter in VR, that is Half-Life Alyx , the enthusiasm for the well-known Valve series is back in vogue, although there is no trace of Half-Life 3 at the moment.
In fact, too many years have passed since the release of Half-Life 2 , the chapter of the shooter saga that changed the genre forever, a game so loved that even today there are those who have decided to dedicate time and resources to give it life to a next-gen version .
This, also because according to a report by the always well-informed Tylver McVicker, it seems that Valve at the moment is not interested in the development of Half-Life 3 .
Now, as reported by DSO Gaming , two artists / developers are currently working on a fan remake of the historic Half-Life 2 in Unreal Engine 5 .
According to what has been announced by the team, Project Freeman will use the UE5 and therefore aims to modernize the look and feel of this classic FPS.
Project Freeman is in fact designed to offer completely reworked maps and characters , motion capture animations with facial expressions, particle systems and completely new visual effects.
Just below, a video showing the potential of the project:
The team wants to release its project on the PC platform and PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.
This would mean in a nutshell that, at the end of the fair, the game may not be released for free (unless Valve decides to block the project for obvious reasons).
