The famed Hollywood wrestler and actor urged various Nintendo representatives to have the company work on a new 2D Metroid during a Switch promotion campaign in 2017.
John Cena , the Hollywood and WWE superstar, would have urged Nintendo to work on a new installment of the Metroid saga in two dimensions during a photo session in 2017. As shared by Dan Ryckert of Giant Bomb through his Twitter account, Cena told Nintendo representatives during the session that he was very interested in playing a new 2D title in the franchise starring Samus Aran.
Krysta Yang, a former Nintendo employee who worked as part of the company’s editorial team at the time, has corroborated the story with a message in which she has highlighted that Cena is “a very nice guy.”
The photo session attended by the fighter was part of an advertising campaign that was carried out during the period prior to the launch of Nintendo Switch , a console that is on its way to becoming one of the best-selling video game systems .
