The studio has announced that it is focusing its efforts on Grand Theft Auto VI and that it plans to improve existing Red Dead Online modes rather than add new ones.
Rockstar Games has reported through a statement on its official blog (via VGC ) that its teams will prioritize the development of Grand Theft Auto VI against new content updates for Red Dead Online. It should be noted that the Red Dead Online community has complained on previous occasions about the lack of new content in recent months and the lack of transparency on the part of the development studio , so we imagine that this recent statement has been released with the intention of calm the waters and communicate the plans for the future of the title.
“Over the last few years, we’ve been devoting more development resources to the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series , understanding more than ever the need to exceed player expectations and make this next installment the best it can be, and how As a result, we are in the process of making some changes to the way we support Red Dead Online ,” we read in the statement. The studio aims to improve existing content rather than add new modes or major updates.
“Both new and experienced players will be able to take part in the myriad of activities that have already been added to this massively rich world, including Specialist Roles, cooperative story-based missions, competitive Versus Modes and much more, we will continue to showcase these unique additions through monthly Red Dead Online events as we go, so players of all skill levels can enjoy all that the vast frontier has to offer.”
“Along with special seasonal events and experience improvements – as well as other changes to improve and maintain a healthy environment in Red Dead Online – this year we plan to build on existing modes and add new Telegram Missions , rather than deliver great thematic content updates as in years past, and we will continue to highlight and share the creative efforts of our Red Dead community.”
