Xbox has announced in a briefing addressed to various media outlets (via VGC ) that it plans to release at least 5 major first-party games by 2023 ; Broadly speaking, the objective is to match or even exceed the production of the previous 12 months . The company highlights in the report that it published five video games – Microsoft Flight Simulator , Psychonauts 2 , Age of Empires IV , Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite– via its commercially available consoles (Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S), PC and in the cloud during its last fiscal year, which began on July 1, 2021 and ends on June 30, 2022.
“We are on track to meet or exceed that amount in the next fiscal year,” the company has stated bluntly. What big releases are coming over the next year for Xbox systems and PC? At the moment, the only video games that are confirmed to release during the next Xbox fiscal year are Redfall and Starfield . Both titles were recently delayed for the first half of next year and this morning we have reported that Starfield could arrive at the beginning of the year , although at the moment it is not fully confirmed. Xbox has promised before that the wait will be worth it .
Xbox’s internal studios are working on multiple projects: a new Fable from Playground Games, a reboot of Perfect Dark from The Initiative in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics , a new Gears of War from The Coalition, Avowed from Obsidian and State of Decay 3 , among others.
